What’s the buzz, what got us buzzing and how do we buzz?

Let’s set the scene: Lil 18 years about to finish the glory days of high school, Pio 19 in Madrid studying but mainly doing all of the above. A common denominator between us two sistas being the big “?” of the future. Both of our answers were “entrepreneur” but how better to really know than to try. It was simply a game of trial and error. But at least all that was at stake was our own pocket money and our time. 

Why did we start? Simple: our eagerness for entrepreneurship and passion for (& comfort to tackle) jewellery. 

Jewellery was always something of great value to us. Not because we assigned the value to it, but because our grandmother did and was our initial teacher in the arts of stones, stories and silky smooth surfaces. We wanted to create a product that was the product of us as individuals and of our sisterhood. Therefore, we are Pio and Lil, practically twins whilst being polar opposites. 

Pio is the worker bee: the propeller (or hamuli: bees’ wings) that keeps us moving and especially in a forward direction. She is the sterling silver 925 base that holds all of Inbeetween together. Spearheaded by nature and with bigger balls of steel than any of the weight of our jewellery (past and infinite future) combined. 

Lil is the drone (male bee) always on the lookout for the queen bee and finding creative ways in order to most effectively find her. Lil is everywhere and nowhere: she is the CFO and the content creator with her head in the clouds always having ideas but needing the propeller to give the ideas a stage. 

Together we have designed our Inbeetween hive and you have all brought it to life. We created the hive initially to create some nice designs for our friends to wear at an affordable price point, a concept rarely conquered in Zürich, the home of banks. The first rings that we created actually had no name, but they were the daintiest little 24k gold rings with either a ruby, black diamond pavé, green garnet or blue sapphire center piece. Seamless to the touch, the rings had great success… amongst our MOM’s friends. Mission not so complete. 

Our journey since 2019 therefore has been to provide high quality, gold plated jewellery with a unique design but easy to wear: namely, to attire all the moment’s Inbeetween. What does this mean? The usual occasion to buy jewellery is a big moment, achievement or a special day. However, we believe that the moments in between the big ones have the power to have a much greater influence. In order to do so, one must have a positive mindset and be open to whatever may cross our paths. Jewellery is just a little trinket that could make the difference on the grey days. 

Not to mention, our muse, the bee. The bee lives the Inbeetween life, constantly amidst a plethora of different petals and floral nectaries. It is their ability to constantly buzz in between that sustains our ecosystem. Like you’ve probably heard countless of times, it’s the little things in life. 

Therefore our designs are dainty, playful pieces that are very subtle from afar but communicate a statement up close. A ray of sun caught by the honeycomb on your ear, by our sting ring on your pinky. Always noticeable to your own eye and the start of a great friendship when noticed by another. 

That’s us: the bee sisters (originally started as the B’s because our last name is unpronounceable and then a lovely bystander in our family ski relay race calling out the “flying bees”).
