Embracing the true identity and essence of our business, inBEEtween, we are buzzing with excitement to finally reveal the bee project that we are supporting together - the Bee-Family Conservation Project.
The Bee Family Project is devoted to the conservation of bees by maintaining a healthy habitat. It is situated in the midst of nature in Arbon, Switzerland, close to the Bodensee lake. The honey bees gather pollen, nectar and honeydew in the low-impact habitat that the Bee Family constructs and maintains for them. Out of the excess honey from the bees, the Bee Family also offers natural, single-origin honey. The honey is not only the beautiful outcome of a bee ecosystem but also serves as the catalyst for bee preservation projects to continue constructing new bee habitats.
How does the Bee Family help the bee cycle?
Both nectar and pollen are essential for bee nutrition. While the pollen offers protein and other nutrients, the nectar is used for energy. Bees carry pollen from plant to plant, providing the pollination services needed by plants and nature as a whole, and results in fruits and vegetables. Bees use the majority of the pollen as food for their larvae and produce honey from the brought-in nectar. The healthy habitat that the Bee Family ensures provides a bee-friendly food source and a bee home made of natural materials, thus significantly contributing to their survival.
What are we doing to help the Bee Family?
In order to support a project that actually helps bees survive, Pia and I have been doing research for years. We were only considering small, organic, and local businesses as a small business ourselves and want to maintain as much of a personal connection to the organization as possible. We believe that everything in life should be done with a purpose, which led us to inBEEtween. In addition to appreciating moments that might otherwise pass us by and having a purpose beyond the transactional aspect of a purchase, we also wanted to give back to the colorful world that gives life to the in-betweens. We already sponsored a home for the bees so that they are able to do their daily work in a healthy habitat. Our support is actually YOUR support, where 1 CHF from each sale supports the Bee-Family in constructing new habitats for bees to safeguard and promote their survival.
